Whistle Works, Woman Strips

Road workers in a small New Zealand town got their wish granted when a woman stripped saying she was fed up with their wolf-whistles. The Israeli tourist was about to use an ATM in the main street of Kerikeri, in the far north of the country, when the men whistled. She calmly stripped off, used the cash machine, before getting dressed and walking away. The woman told police she didn't take too kindly to the whistling from the men repairing the road. "She said she had thought 'bugger them, I'll show them what I've got'," Police Sergeant Peter Masters said."She gave the explanation that she had been ... pestered by New Zealand men. She's not an unattractive looking lady," Masters said. "She was taken back to the police station and spoken to and told that was inappropriate in New Zealand."

Pie Fight Cancelled Over Safety Fears

The world's largest ever pie fight has been cancelled following concerns over health and safety. Pie Fight Brighton - promoted through the Facebook social networking website - should have taken place on Saturday. The event was planned to be a 10-minute "splatterthon".But promoters said Sussex Police pulled the plug on the record-breaking attempt after more than 1,000 people signed up to take part. pie fight spokesman sent out a message to members last week saying: "At the time there were less than 100 people signed up. Now there's more than 1,000 and, unsurprisingly, the police aren't too happy about it."The police have a good sense of humour and think it's a fun idea and have suggested we organise the event for real. Okay, it's not as spontaneous as it was but we could easily turn this into a world record attempt." The current British record for pie fight participants stands at 70 people. A new date and location for the pie fight has not been revealed. Sussex Police has refused to comment.

Students Sharing Nude Photos

Westport school officials said middle and high school students have been sharing nude pictures of themselves electronically. In a letter and e-mail, Superintendent Elliott Landon said the video and still images show students engaging in inappropriate acts while nude in their homes. He said the images were forwarded to numerous people. Landon said the behavior is potentially dangerous to the students who are sending the images of themselves. Landon's letter advised parents to monitor their children's Internet and cell phone use, keep computers in a common space at home and talk to teenagers about the risks of transmitting sexual materials.Officials in Ohio said last month that some teens were using cell phones to flirt and send nude pictures of themselves. The messages often spread quickly and sometimes find their way to Web sites, officials said.

Students Back Nude Teacher

They have just mastered writing their own names, but the young students of suspended primary school teacher Lynne Tziolas this week started their own petition demanding she be reinstated. Ms Tziolas was stood down from her job as a year one teacher at Narraweena Public School by the NSW Department of Education after she posed nude with her husband, Antonios, for the May issue of Cleo magazine. In the accompanying story, the couple candidly discussed their sex life. At least one parent has gathered about 300 signatures on a petition requesting Ms Tziolas be given her job back. But a young activist inside the popular teacher's class also began petitioning students this week by passing around an exercise book. The book was discovered after five "signatures" had been collected and it was handed by school principal Julie Organ to the owner's parents. A Department of Education spokesman yesterday confirmed a decision about Ms Tziolas' future as a teacher would be made pending a four-week investigation into the matter.Ms Tziolas will be on full pay for the four weeks, however she will not be permitted to teach. It is understood she has applied for legal assistance from the NSW Teachers Federation and is planning to take legal action against the Department of Education if she loses her job.
